Alright there!

So this is Kind of Digital, the new company I have started to deliver online innovation to public services. Things are really only just being set up, so do bear with me, but I’m really excited about the future.

What does Kind of Digital do? Well, basically, all the stuff I’ve been writing about on my blog for the last five years or so: how do we use the internet to make government more interesting?

That’s going to be made up of a mixture of services, like strategy, training and development; and getting involved in interesting projects.

In terms of the team, right now it’s me making the noise and Catherine (otherwise known as @davebriggswife) doing the important behind the scenes work – keeping the bank manager, the accountant and most importantly the customers, happy.

My aim for Kind of Digital though is that it isn’t just Briggs Incorporated. I believe there is a great opportunity for an agile, innovative agency to bring the best of the web to public services. There will be many opportunities for freelancers to join the team on an associate basis. If you are interested, again, drop me a line.

Fans of DavePress (there may be some out there…) don’t worry, I’m going to carry on writing up my half baked thinking on there as usual. Do make sure you subscribe to this blog too, though, as we’ll be publishing all sorts of interesting stuff here in the future. A few folk have questioned my sanity for launching a new business focused on public services at this time. My view is that there is a world of opportunity for innovating and doing things differently right now – and I want to do my bit.
